Posted by in Brand Communication / Creativity and R&D

2010/04/30. And here goes another eBook. But the most surprising thing about the Skiff is the width (6 mm.), the size (11,5 inchs), but most of all its flexibility. Skiff. Un eBook más flexible. Siguiendo con la saga de los eBooks, aqui va uno más. Lo más llamativo del Skiff es su grosor (6 mm.), su tamaño (11,5 pulgadas), pero sobre todo su flexibilidad.

SixthSense

2009/11/28. The Chief Economist at Google, Hal Varian, said just a few days ago in a conference to the journalism students at Berkeley, that “most probably the iPad will be used during leisure time and this should appear appealing to editorials”. And I guess Mr. Varian must know something about it. And I say that the future of journalism and many other things, as to do with a sith sense, The SixthSense. A project presented at TED by the brilliant Pranav Mistry, from the MIT Media Lab, of course. El…read more

What a beautiful behind!

Posted by in Brand Communication / Creativity and R&D

2011/03/02. Well, it’s finally here. The new iPad, the ultimate object of desire from Apple. Beautifull even from behind. But out of all the show, an important side of it, has been the incredible real time social netwroks coverage. Monitorizing the event on Twitter, the figures were as interesting as they usually are on the net. Almost 2.000 tweets per minute. Quite impressive. Just look at the number of tweets between 19:39 and 19:41, almost half an hour after Steve Jobs shared his secret with the world. ¡Que culo! Bueno,…read more

Kindle sweeps Amazon and the stock market.

Posted by in Brand Communication / Creativity and R&D

2010/01/15. A few days ago I wrote that we were going to start seeing eBook readers very often. If I was a stock broker I could have been able to win a bonus this Christmas (although I admit you didn’t had to be a guru to anticipate that). Well, Amazon just announced that its top-selling gift this christmas time is being its ebook reader and for the first time to date they have sold more eBooks than paper books. Will it be an autopromo action to make the August in…read more

167$ por un millón de reproducciones en Spotify

Posted by in Brand Communication / Creativity and R&D

2009/12/29. After the monopoly that iTunes has meant to the new music business, it seems that Spotify really might represent an interesting alternative in the music industry to the new landscape of ecommerce. However news such as that Lady Gaga has only received 167.00 U$ for the million reproductions of her song “Poker Face” on Spotify doesn’t help to imagine a very future friendly relation between the recording industry and the artists. Después del monopolio que suponía iTunes para el nuevo negocio de la música, parece que Spotify realmente se…read more

How do YouTube y Belgium relate?

Posted by in Brand Communication / Creativity and R&D

2009/12/22. This apparently child riddle is double intended, obviously. A few days ago I shared on my delicious the link to generate shortened urls and avoid those endless links that also break up in many emails when reaching their addressee. Well, now YouTube has chosen the domain for Belgium (.be) to launch its own shortened url’s tool. So if you click this link: http://youtu.be/tjE7jvGt6UA you’ll see the same delicious TV commercial by Jonathan Glazer for Volkswagen Polo as if you click in the following link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tjE7jvGt6UA   ¿Que relación hay…read more

MK alternative music channel. South Africa

Posted by in Brand Communication / Creativity and R&D

2009/12/15. The following video for the Southafrican MK alternative music did reminded me the project I did with Hans Gissinger and Christian Escribà. For the Tartas project in 2005, we used a Photo Sonics 35mm Camera, with a shutter speed of 150 images/sec. and Unilux strobes. But it’s amazing to be able to do that nowadays with one tenth of what it costed us, thanks to cameras like RedOne, PhantomHD or plug-ins like Twixtor. As amazing as it was to have the privilege of having the chance to shoot with…read more

2009/12/16. A great 3D integration work (details on vimeo) from Mario Brioschi inspired by a poem by Eugenio Montale: Un excelente ejercicio de integración 3D (detalles en vimeo) de Mario Brioschi inspirado en un poema de Eugenio Montale: Forse un mattino andando in un’aria di vetro, arida, rivolgendomi, vedrò compirsi il miracolo: il nulla alle mie spalle, il vuoto dietro di me, con un terrore di ubriaco. Poi come s’uno schermo, s’accamperanno di gitto alberi case colli per l’inganno consueto. Ma sarà troppo tardi; ed io me n’andrò zitto tra…read more

Google Chrome TV

2009/09/26. It’s amazing how much audiovisual work is coming out of the Google Chrome. I recomend the Imaginary Forces one, but I must admit I’m a special fan of Kyle Cooper’s work. Es curioso todo lo que está dando de si para audiovisuales el Google Chrome. Reconozco que sin ser demasiado objetivo, mi eterna debilidad por Kyle Cooper, me obliga a recomendar el de Imaginary Forces.

2009/12/20. The people at Tumblr has done some investigation about the cameras their users to take the pictures they publish in their platform with, and there’s some interesting data. The first one is that Apple Photo Booth doubles the second one, the Canon EOS Digital Reflex. Regarding brands, Canon represents 50%, woth 20 models in the top 40 list, followed by Nikon (25%) y Apple (20%) with its iPhone 3GS and 3G ranking 13th and 14th place.   Las fotos de Tumblr La gente de Tumblr ha hecho un estudio…read more
